Attractive Opposites by Ariana

Mr omg and I rewatched Silicon Valley for the third time, and during this run, I realized the dark romance potential of Monica and Gilfoyle. Unfortunately, there are only 25 Hallfoyle fics on AO3, and majority of them have Hallfoyle as a side ship. Fortunately, Attractive Opposites happens to be not just the best Hallfoyle fic on the site, but also one of the best fics I’ve read hands down. Naturally, I had to reach out to Ariana to offer her a handbound copy of her incredible work.
The fun part about this project was learning more programming languages. I already know the usual stuff like HTML, CSS, PHP, Python, and JavaScript, but since this fic has 16 chapters, I couldn’t keep cycling through the same codes for the chapter headers. During a four-day period, I learned the basics of Go, Swift, Kotlin, React, and relived high school by reviewing C++.
To round off the uniqueness of this book, I reeled in the beautiful artwork by mkmetz for the covers, frontispiece, and two chapters.
Overall, this book is easily going into my top 5 favorite typesets. This was such a fun, learning experience for me and I’m so happy to have once again bound the first book in a ship (and possibly fandom, but I’m not aware of any other Silicon Valley binders). If you do know of any, lmk because I would love to connect with them!
